Question Wharfedale SW150 buzzing

Hi,

I have a new Wharfedale SW150 which emits a low buzzing noise with/without an RCA cable plugged in. Is this common with this sub or would it be considered a 'fault'?

Is it a 'buzz' or a 'hum'? If it's a 'hum', try a different power socket.

I would say it's more of a buzz, but I guess that may be more of a hum to someone else! :)

I will try a different power socket and see. Would it make it any better from a surge protector or anything like that?

If it's more of a hum it's probably a ground-loop, hence why I said try a different socket. Preferably on a different circuit and on its own. Surge protector may help.

Ok I've had chance to play around and can't eliminate it. I've tried a different socket, and tried on a different circuit with all the other ones off on the consumer unit. It's definitely coming from the back part (i.e. amp) of the sub, not from the cone itself.
