    Hi,

I have just bought a Wharfedale Sw150 Sub for my Yam DSP - A5. When i connect them I get a continuous hum. I have tried several cables with no change. The Sub makes no noise when its not connected to the amp. Any suggestions as to what maybe happening.

    Thanks

    Frank

Mains hum. Try connecting them to different spurs.

Then, try unplugging the TV aerial (I had this case). Only way I know to properly take care of this is to get a Jensen transformer at www.jensentransformers.com

If all else fails, and purely as an UNSAFE experiment, try lifting one or both of the ground pins. Note the result, put everything back as it was. I also had a bit of this. Ended up using a APC mains stabilizer to build a floating ground. This is not hifi hocuspocus, its www.apc.com, PC gear.
