Wharfedale L19T11W-C "DVD No Signal"

Hi the DVD on the TV (Wharfedale L19T11W-C) does not seem to be active. If I select DVD, the message on the screen is DVD No Signal. When I offer a DVD to the slot, there seems to be no activity or noise, and no attempt to grab the DVD. I could find no fuses on the 240v side, and only a small soldered in fuse on the TV mother board. Are these DVD players repairable, and is there a check list/service manual to show what test points there are to indicate if the fault is on the power supply side, or if perhaps the DVD mechanism is out of step and so not reacting? Any clues?
