I don't think it's the best programme to have ever been broadcast but very watchable nonetheless. However I have already been given watching instructions for the series from the wife. Record it, watch it with your headphones on when I'm in bed! So not for everybody.

I thought the first season of this show was okay, but the pace was painfully slow at times, and there were too many moments that felt like they weren't so much ingenious plot twists as just the writers raising both middle fingers to the audience and jeering. And by the end, there were some quite basic aspects of what the hell was going on that still hadn't really been resolved properly.

And did we really need to have quite that many dead naked women?

I guess I'll check out season 2, though.

Is the whole of season 2 available, or are they releasing it week by week?

Like Phil I loved the first series. I don't have Sky so I have to wait until it's on a streaming service, as it's weekly I don't really want to go down the Now route as I have Netflix and Amazon so I draw the line there... Something to look forward to...

Loved the first season (speculating with friends every week was great fun) and so glad the long wait is finally over and I wasn’t disappointed.

First series peaked about 4 episodes from the end... Can already see the producers finger prints all over season 2, so no doubt it'll be a mid season snooze fest then an over the top ending.

Loved the first season, watched it twice. Really excited to watch the new season.

Watched it last night and I was bored. Don’t know what’s changed but for me it lacked direction and suspense. It felt like a cheap knock-off of the first season.

After watching season one on UHD BD, how did it compare to sky’s broadcast.
I’ve probably been spoilt by Amazon & Netflix HDR 4K/1080p offerings but watching this felt painful visually.

Watched first episode last night. At first I thought the entire series was going to be in 2.35:1 but turns out that was just the first scene for some reason.

I did notice the picture quality was not great in the first few dark-ish scenes... saw a lot of flickering/banding in dark areas (viewing Sky Atlantic recording on Sony HW-40ES PJ to 3m screen).. it improved in brighter parts though. Perhaps Sky needs to increase the bit-rates of this show's downloads - seems to be too much compression artifacts appearing.

Anyway I liked the episode, didn't think it was worse than series one as somebody above said, and I have no complaints about gratuitous naked dead boobies lying on ground in background during a scene... after all the ladies got a
      full frontal male striptease

Anyway I wouldn't worry, the boobie count always ends up going down as a series becomes more popular/mainstream when the studio execs try to pander to female viewers and complaints. Same thing happened in GoT over its seasons - gradually got a lot tamer.

It's definitely worth buying the 4K disc version of Series 1, btw.

What a boring first episode. I also thought the sound quality was poor with dialogue being lost on too many occasions.

I think they may be going for the Guinness book of records for the number of dead bodies counted in one episode..

I wasn't sure about the 1st episode too and found my attention wandering at times. Hopefully it will pick up. I was also wondering

Was that blond haired security guy in the weeks? later scenes with Bernard the one who went missing during season 1?

I also missed pretty much all of what little robot Robert said. I could barely make any of it out and couldn't be bothered to rewind. There was definitely something up with the audio at times.

I'm confident it will pick up, but for a season opener and the first new episode for 2 years it was a bit weak. An extended episode that didn't really do much.

Hopkins absence was very noticeable, and somehow Hale knew about secret entrances in the park that Bernard knew nothing about? Really?

Enjoyed getting back into the series - although I only finished the 4K UHD Boxset of Season One a few weeks back, so it all still felt fresh. Agreed with the comments on poor compression, lots of issues in the darker scenes (Now TV) as well as the audio problems too,
although I think the child/hopkins scene was deliberate.

That scene aside, I found the audio hard to follow at times.

No offence intended to Hemsworth, but he's put on a few pounds since we last saw him being attacked by the ghost nation! I guess we'll find out what happened over the coming weeks. I get the feeling well spend a few episodes flicking back and forth from the present to the hours and days after the 'incident'

I liked it overall. The obvious theme was to simply show the sporadic nature in the aftermath with the few remaining factions. Let's face it; if it gave loads of answers and wrapped things up nicely, people would be moaning that that was too cozy.
To me, the most frustrating points
are that the self aware hosts are still going along with the limited ones, who would surely seem redundant and/or too repetitive in simply running the programme of the 'others/humans'. It smacks of Blade Runner and the sentimental flaw of the Replicants. And how Bernard's status isn't known by some top ranking humans like Hale. There would surely be some test/device to enable the hosts to be known as such.
@SunnyIntervals, Bernard knows where most everything is and data about the world but he still only knew what was inputted and didn't have the self aware status of knowing what he is. Whereas Hale was at the top and in on much of the secret knowledge and underhand dealings about the world.

As soon as I head there would be a TV adaptation of Westworld I knew I would be hooked. Just loved the original film with Mr Brenner. Then to see a brief glimpse of him in the TV series, great!

Season 2 has started well for me and look forward to see what unfolds

Hmm, I think it's a stretch that Hale, who seems not to visit the parks too often (judging from dialogue in S1) , can remember the location of an exit point in that vast landscape. Why didn't she take the whole group there? Why go along with Bernards option which was much further away? It was too convenient.

Glad it wasn't just me who had the compression artifacts in the dark scenes. I downloaded the on-demand version in case it was higher bit-rate but was the same sadly.
