Selling this Western Digital Caviar Green hard drive. It's been removed from a prebuilt system as its excessively large capacity for my requirements!

Build date 24th March 2012 and its the 64MB cache version

    After £55 inc delivery :)

Thanks for your interest but that's too low I'm afraid, the best I can do is £50 inc. Very cheap for a nearly new 2TB drive as it is.

How much warranty is left on it? Do you have the receipt for warranty purposes?

It was supplied pre installed in a PC so doesn't carry it's own warranty or receipt

But aren't drives covered by the manufacturers own warranty? Isn't the drive itself with the label info sufficient to claim? Maybe someone can clarify this...

Has it any bad sectors when tested?

    Cheers

They only carry a manufacturers warranty if purchased through a retail channel, this is an OEM drive supplied with a PC

No errors reported, I've since erased the drive for obvious reasons!

So even though OEM drives are covered when you buy from Amazon for example, in this case because it's from a built PC it carries no warranty whatsoever? I find that a bit strange

Surely the receipt of your PC would cover the drive, no?

As I've mentioned it doesn't have warranty with Western Digital unfortuanetly. I'm not trying to hide anything here and this has been reflected in the price!

OK mate. I thought that it would be covered somehow! :D

In that case, I'll leave it and get hold of one with warranty.

    GLWTS :smashin:

Thanks for the offer but best I'm willing to do is £50 inc postage which I think is fair. I'll probably just keep it if not able to sell at that price
