and watched Sahara  and Man Of The House

    Both class.

the adverts included "The League of Gentlemen: Apocalypse" which is a series that I've never liked, but apparently I'm not alone as 40ish people that were in each film didn't laugh either.

Sin City trailer :D  :D  :D

Oh and the new Orange advert is class as well.

I enjoyed it, lots of proper stunts and very little cgi and wire type work in the action sequences.

MOTH had some proper laugh out loud moments in it, if you like Tommy Lee Jones in things like The Fugitive and US Marshalls then you'll like this as he is basically taking the P out of himself :D

I disagree. If you like Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive you will hate this as it is lame, humourless, plot lite tosh. Totally devoid of any merit whatsoever. IMHO of course. :)

Far too few films do things the 'old-school' way - may try and see this if I get the chance.

Yeah strange that considering 3 of the largest effects houses in the world were doing digital effects for it over the last 6 months.

The effects must've been really good as I didn't notice too much aside from the helicopter pad bit and a couple of other scenes.

Have you read any of Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt books ?? If so how does the film compare. Sahara's one of the few Ive yet to read, Im just going to get it on DVD but I hope it captures the style of the books.

I've not read any CC books but from reading the back covers on my Dad's then the basic premise is close but the rest is not exact, I suspect.
