BBC News - Security firm G4S cleared for government contract bids

It was always going to happen and sure enough it has. Alledged fraud, running into the millions and yet they will be allowed to bid for new contracts? Surely the allegations are enough to suspend their ability to bid for very lucrative contracts (For them, not for the tax payers)?

Private firms seem to be doing a wonderful job for the government, or should I say we taxpayers. Atos has now left ESA assessments after making so many cock ups that it has cost millions in appeals. Now Capita is having to call in civil servants to help with the massive backlog of assessments for the new Personal Independant Payments. Judgements on people with terminal diseases which should take seven days are taking over seven months. Civil servants making medical decisions. Disgusting.

What do they do in Whitehall. Throw contracts into the air and the first one to catch them gets the job? Perhaps some of the these firms should appear on Rogue Traders, they are afterall ripping all of us off.
