No doubt every one of us who've been into gaming for a while will have encountered numerous bugs within games we've played, but which are the weirdest ones you've seen? The ones that make you laugh out loud or question your own sanity.. I've put this in the PC gaming section because it's more than likely we've seen 100 times the amount of bugs console users have, but hey that's the price to pay for hi res graphics and games with more than 12 hours playing time If you've seen a bug on a console game, you can put that here too. The weirdest ones i've encountered would be: Beyond Good And Evil (PC) - There's a bit where you add wings to your boat thing to turn it into a spaceship, but about 2 stages before i got to that, i went through a door at the shipyard and suddenly came out on the roof and my ship had wings.. this caused all sorts of problems because the next stage of the game involved finding some object which would enable you to have the wings fitted and somehow i ended up flying through a wall into a black void from which i couldn't return.. Mercenaries (PS2) - OK So this was a downloaded game, so the bug may well have been caused by a bad burn, but after i'd completed the first couple of missions and got to the army barracks and entered the free non-linear bit of the game, i drove towards a mission objective and started taking fire. I hid behind the truck and peeked out to get a bead on the enemy only to find none.. i stepped out into the open and began getting shot at again, this time i saw the muzzle flashes but still no men.. turned out none of the textures for the enemy soldiers had loaded so they were just floating guns firing at me.. Half Life 2 (PC) - This one was quite weird, and quite embarrassing that i didn't spot it for so long, but on the level where you lower the water level by turning a wheel, i loaded my save game and continued on. felt like i was finally getting good at the game, shooting the guards and sentry bots before they even spotted me, i felt great.. then after about 15 mins i accidentally walked right into a guard and... he didnt respond, didn't move, didn't shoot.. i wasn't good at the game at all, the AI had just turned off!! Brothers In Arms (PC)- The most recent bug i encountered happened when i entered tactical mode, then came back out into real time mode. For some reason the entire screen had rotated 90 degrees meaning my character was walking along the right hand side of the screen which made it slightly difficult to control.
