Hi all,

I have joined the forum as I am having a situation with my mother in law that I hope you people involved with drones will know a potential solution.

She is unfortunately not mentally well but still more than able to look after herself and lives alone.

For the past 6 months or so she continually rings family members, stressed and in pain as drones are "firing laser beams through the house and at her". they can also see her through closed curtains so she doesn't sleep or at any point relax.

I have tried telling her that drones don't have the technology she is saying but getting met with "the guys have modified them". Of course not the case. We have been round many times and never seen the drones as they know we are coming and disappear.

THE QUESTION
My thought is can I buy some technology that tracks drones in amy way so she can see they are not there?

Sad what the brain can do!

Many thanks
Kenny

ADS-B is the only thing I know of that will show them up ….

But only if the drone has it fitted which not many do in this country 😞

Welcome to the forums. I think your mother-in-law might need to see a mental health professional to be honest. That doesn’t mean she isn’t fit to live by herself of course.

IME of somebody with similar mental health issues (family member and I am not a health professional), there is nothing much to gain from trying to help with what seem to be logical suggestions. It is practically impossible for us lay persons to understand how the individual’s mind is working at any particular point in time.

Living alone with support is fine as long as the person isn’t being harmed or doing harm. In our case unfortunately the person needed more specialised attention away from home - they are now back and able to get back to life again. If they hadn’t been guided towards specialist help it wouldn’t have ended well for sure.

To your specific question - as noted the technology likely exists but isn’t intended for private use. Guiding your mother-in-law to speak to a mental health professional will allow them to answer her questions like this in a way that doesn’t heighten her anxiety.

If you have a look at the general chat stickies we have a mental health thread running , have a look in there and you may get some pointers to the help you need 👍
