Been loading a load of CD's into iTunes. Anyone else find the Genres I bit weird?

Iggy Pop & Korn are classified as Alternative & Punk. I can understand that.

They've also classified Cold Play as Alternative & Punk  Surely it should be mushy girly music or something. How can I do a shuffle within Alternative & Punk now? :censored:

I know I can go through and relabel it just found it a bit odd.

    yes.
sometimes, artists will have different genres depending on the album (even though the music is about the same)

If you're on a Mac, there's an app called MPFreaker:

    http://www.lairware.com/mpfreaker/

that interfaces with iTunes to download tags (and cd artwork if you want) from other sites around the internet. That may get better genre results. Only tried it for artwork and it works great for that, but not tried it with genres so I can't say for sure.

Unfortunately I have a PC not MAC. Sounds a great little app. I wouldn't mind artwork for my CD's.

you can actually create ur own tags. like i it didnt have 'chill out' so i just created one myself. if u wana label the whole album all u have to do is highlight the album then change it, instead of tagging each one.
