Weird Aerial Question

Standard Member
Hi all,

Just a strange question to ask here, apologies if it's too odd!

We moved into a new tenement style apartment last year. On moving in we found there was a satellite dish on the building for our flat, and promptly started using freesat. This is all good. However, I was looking at the outside of the building the other day and noticed that everyone's terrestrial aerial cables have been cut at some point in the past. Also noted that there are lots of satellite dishes and everyone appears to be connected to them instead.

Anyone any idea why 15 or so tv aerials would have been cut in a whole block of apartments?

Did they leave a foot or 2 dangling from each aerial ?
I wonder if they used the original aerial downleads for connection to the dishes.
What area are you in ?
Is it perhaps one that has had the digitial switchover yet ?
(analogue TV chanenls turned off).
Can't a neighbour who has been there for a long time explain what happened ?
