    hi folks
I need a bit of advice please. I have my tele panasonic tx32pl10 on its original stand .I can't change the stand as my tele and speakers which are on stands just fit in the corner where it has to go:( . My dilemma is how much weight can these tele stands hold .would it be safe to put a 20kg receiver on these glass shelves. I have ordered marantz7300 at 15 kg but if delivery was delayed too long was thinking of sony va-555es at 20kg so if you could let me no what sort of weights you have on your stands
    would be much appreciated.
    thanks gonzo:)

    Gonzo,

I dont think that it will be a problem, Im sure your Panny weighs in at above 20kg (you should be able to check this in their website/brochure)

    regards

I would imagine the top of the stand, the part his tv is sitting on, is a lot stronger than the lower shelves he is talking about.

Having said that I would still expect them to hold 15kg fine.

    Ah! fair point, well made

...should have read the post more carefully

In that case one would expect the shelves to at leas accommodate Panny's heaviest bit of AV kit (If one could be a*sed to look it up).

Still, I dont think it will be a problem.

Panasonic are being naugthy if they havent quoted some figure for the strength..... if they havent, then you can assume it can hold one of their big av recievers, and if something goes wrong, then its their problem. But all said, 15 or 20 kd should be ok

why not measure the thickness of the glass and ask a glazier. Or show the glass shelf to a glazier and ask for advice, including how much would it cost to replace.
