I took this photo at my sisters wedding a couple of weekends ago and want to print off and frame as a gift for them. I really like the way it captures my sisters happiness but I can't decide on which to choose from. It's my first attempt at any effects in CS2, I like them both, but which would look better framed? Any suggestions. I've cropped, adjusted the levels and applied a blur to the first and also cloned out the confetti, and then used a Glow plugin for the 2nd. I prefer the 2nd Glow photo.

Personally, I think the natural colour photo is nicest.

    They both look good.

Easy answer - frame them both.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

I think the first is much nicer than the second. It have a very natural feel to it and the colours are nice and soft. I would probably try and darken the chaps collar though as it does lead the eye a little too much IMO. Good job on the cloning too :smashin:

The second looks like it was shot at ISO-3200! :D

I also like the first one best. The second might look better in B & W, maybe even leaving the flowers in colour.

Steve, do you mean make the shirt collar a darker white, or totally alter it to a darker shirt?

Well, looks like the 'typical' blurred wedding shot wins through. My wife was right after all!

I never thought of that. I did make one B&W but never thought of using the history tool. Another option, thanks.

Just darken the collar a bit as it looks a little blown out in the centre section. I was kind of comparing it to the white in the brides dress and it seemed much brighter and drew my eye immediately.

They both have "artistic" merit:thumbsup: but if I had to chose only one I'd stick to the first one
As suggested, you could monochrome ( and not blur ) the pic ( except the flowers ) and ask your wife ( again ;) ) what she thinks
