Anyone else here suddenly ran out of weapon parts? I'm not sure where all mine have gone, I've rolled a few weapons but nowhere near the amount of some people on here.

I can't upgrade any guns now , anyone have any idea of the best place to farm green/blue weapon engrams?

I've either deleted the weapon parts being spaced out late in the evening or I didn't have as many parts as I thought. My playtime across 2 characters is 14 days 11 hours and I had 300 weapon parts before I started rolling last week, does that sound about right?

I noticed that mine also seemed to disappear pretty quickly with just a few re-rolls.

Hahaha. I've been struggling with weapon parts since the DLC launched.

    Glad it's not just me!

Would have suggested milking the Wolves drops but I tried that last night and it wouldn't let me open the chest a second time. Did Bungie patch that or something?

Yes mate, infuriating isn't it! That was my only hope of quick'ish Engrams and it's been taken away from me in the last update

I had well over 1000 before the new dlc came out and now I have about 250 left and a stack of guns that dropped in iron banner to reforge

Upgrading exotics must have been what made a massive dent in mine as I have some exotic guns on each character (vex, gjallarhorn, red death) and I also had all exotic guns too. I've deleted some now though

Anyway the same trick for getting more sapphire wire, hedronic essence, plasteel plating also works with guns. Equip green guns, hand on bounties and you'll get 2 or 3 parts instead of 1. Blue guns seem to give 2 or 3 even without handing bounties in

Yep, been doing that for days. Slows down the whole process of handing in bounties unfortunately, but needs must.

    Just checked mine- 1753

I have barely played HoW DLC in comparison to The Dark Below.

I have no weapon parts. It's becoming more than a little frustrating. I can't upgrade anything. I can't reforge anything.

Say you get lucky and it only takes 50 spins to get the roll you want. That's 50 motes, 12,500 glimmer and 150 weapon parts. Weapon parts work out to around 250 glimmer each. That takes the total to 50 motes and 50,000 glimmer.

This expansion was supposed to reduce the amount of boring grind, not raise it to absurd levels.

I get that they want people to spend time playing the game but surely this is counter productive? I'd be more likely to buy Destiny 2 if I'd had less game time on HoW than if I had hundreds of hours spent in the exclusion zone.

Sure they don't want everyone getting perfect rolls too easily but it's not like you've earned that awesome Matador 64 because you killed 3000 yellow bar Cabal. The mote of light should be enough. Throwing the weapon parts and glimmer into the mix is complete bollocks.

I must have been very lucky to get 7 weapons rolled with 100 motes then!!!

Depends what you need them for. If rolling for PVE weapons then just good enough is fine. To get a weapon worth using in Crucible the odds are stacked against you. Using a shotgun as an example:

1 in 2 chance of getting the right barrel.

1 in 8 chance of getting the right column A perk.

1 in 4 chance of getting the right column B perk

1 in 8 chance of getting the right column C perk.

50 motes was me being very conservative.

    All 7 were for Crucible.

1 Shotguns 3 rocket launchers 2 sniper Rifles and 1 machine gun.

Got the perfect rolls on all of them where I got the 4 top perks I was looking for.

What perks did you get? I mean I guess it's possible you have perfect rolls on all of them and it only took 100 rolls, but I am a little sceptical tbh.

I'll have a look in a sec and list them for you.

I'm surprised it actually took me 100 as a few of them dropped after just a few rolls. I know I've been lucky with them though in comparison to some.

Rolling rocket launchers is fine, you can always get a good roll there without breaking the bank.

    The others = 2 / 4

    The shotgun  Spot on.
    One of the snipers
The sniper with single point sling and the BTRD are both bad rolls.

Counterbalance and smallbore are terrible perks for that machine gun.

If you wanted perfect rolls on all those guns you would be talking hundreds and hundreds of motes and thousands of weapon parts.

TBH I rarely use a machine gun in PVP. I've made it as stable as possible with a little boosted extra range on it.

If it was to cost hundreds and hundreds i'd say i was extremely unlucky.

I did 2 shotguns (Fellwinters and Matador) at the start of the week and took me about 20 motes for both.

Got a perfect roll (for me) for one of my Judgment VI shotguns in about 5 motes.
    Aggressive ballistics
    Shot package
    Smallbore
    Luck in the chamber

But I can't tell you how much my other rolls would be, as I got nothin' worth rollin' from IB! No matador, no party crasher, no low-grade humility.

Rolled Ash Factory & Radegast's Fury for three in the tube & grenades & horseshoes (both) in a few motes each.

    I would like:

    - Matador with aggressive, shot package, middle column perk that increases range, kneepads
    - LGH with Shortgaze, hidden hand, quickdraw and unflinching.

I'd happily spend 250 motes to get those. That'd be fine, but 250 motes, 62,500 glimmer and 750 weapon parts is ridiculous.

Motes should be the only currency required here. I can get them from raids (via the speaker), Prison and so on. I shouldn't have to do hours and hours of farming to reforge them. I've already had to work for the motes and I'm giving up other stuff (Xur engrams) to reforge. Anything above that just screams sadism on Bungie's part.

Iron Banner stuff is the same. You've got yourself to rank five to unlock this stuff. That should be enough ***. Why should you have to kill 200 cabal to etheric light? It makes no sense.

Re-rolled my Low-Grade Humility with exactly those perks plus injection mold. took me around 22-23k in glimmer. It was the first time I had gotten hidden hand and unflinching together so pure luck on the scope and middle column!

Thank christ the speaker swaps shards for glimmer now is all I can say, between that and 6 X etheric light in IB it was an expensive week glimmer-wise!

Only took me about a dozen or so rolls on Matador to get linear compensator, shot package, rifled barrel and final round. would have preferred luck in the chamber but not sure how many more rolls that would have taken!

Though thinking on the felwinters I have yet to reforge will go aggressive abllistics, shot package, any range increase barrel and knee-pads to see which I prefer.

    Addictive this reforging business!

I think what they should do is something allow you to lock a perk once it has landed for exams if you get the tier one you are after. You lock it, then you are only reforging the last few to get the ones you want. Allows for less reforging and thus less expense.

If it's any consolation, I have crap weapons but got the Party crasher last night and blew 150 motes on it, and it's still not what I want.

Bungie aren't stupid. There's a reason that there will always be an element of grinding in the game.

Bungie can be pretty stupid at times.

If people are willing to spend hundreds of motes on rolling weapons then chances are they play this game an awful lot. There's really no need to have us farm for parts.

I'd like to run Crota tonight even though it's a bit of a joke now. Instead I'll be farming glimmer :|

The thing is, you don't have to do any of it. I've not done a NF for two weeks and doubt I'll do one this week. No need to do any of it unless you feel it's essential to have every last thing in the game.
