We have a Grundig sky box.

It has been repaired 3 times and still gives us problems.

I take it that the box is at fault as a simple reset resolves any issues.

Usual problems are no-signal error and flashing picture.

We pay sky for the additional cover.

What is the easiest way of getting the box replaced as apposed to repaired?

    hi Tesla

we had the additional cover and when we had a problem with the box sky just sent a work man out and gave us an new box (well not new, but new to us) never even looked at the old one just came in and took the old one and then set the other one up and went.

did that 2 times so i dont think thay even bother to mend old ones when you have the additional cover.

It has never actually been Sky who have come to our house but a third party company.

Might of even been domestic and general.

Don’t no then but we had the additional cover for both sky box’s (mine and my dads)

all I did was ring the number on the cover sheet and sky sent some one out don’t no if he worked for sky but never had any problems with it all sky used to ask was for the insurances number/cover number.

I never remember seeing domestic and general on any paper work. I no they cover our tv but am sure its not on the paper work for the sky box’s.

It was definately D&G who came to do ours.

Our box has been taken 3 times.

The first time it was away for about a fortnight and we though that absolutely nothing was done to it.

When the 2nd guy came i mentioned this and he said i was right. There were no stickers on the underside of the box which get placed on BEFORE they do anything to the box.

    It still is problematic.

I presume your Grundig box is over a year old? Is there no one else in the house who could get a new subscription to get a new box & sack your old subscription? I don't know, what Skys rules are, if you cancel an old account, how long before you can have a new with new box? There must be something or you could do so every 12 months for a new box / install ! It would defeat any warranty/insurance cover. Perhaps someone on the forum knows. I woulld think husband /wife combos may struggle with this, but different named partners with different bank accounts should be ok, but what do they look at? Same address, same name? Same name same bank account? It'll all be on computer, but are closed accounts checked against new?

I just ordered Sky+ on the same account and its being installed in a couple of weeks.

    Therefore, new 12month contract.
