Cheers Broadsword,Same question asked and answered here...
Unfortunately that product is no longer on that site.
If you can find a power supply for a WD Essential hard drive that will work.
As said on the post linked to, you need a 12.5V (exact) 1.5A (minimum, 2A will do) but the normal power supplies have a different adaptor and won't fit, I never worked out the difference though.
You could email the website linked to above as I recall they were very helpful to me.
Maybe but it doesn't say what the amp value is.Cheers Broadsword,
Would this work?
12V Western Digital My Book Studio Ed. power supply on eBay (end time 18-Jul-10 11:45:03 BST)

One of these will do Western : 12v power adapter & Power supplies, Belkin | D-link | yamaha | 3com just I'm not sure which one. When I ordered mine I emailed them and asked which I needed and it came with an adaptor I needed to use. I did buy 2 others from normal places just matching up the amps and volts and when they came the end was the wrong size. However taking the power supply from my WD Mybook 320GB drive was the exact size and power ratings I needed.
At a guess I would say this is the one you need 12V WD My Book Essentials Ed. replacement power adaptor - £7.99 : 12v power adapter & Power supplies, Belkin | D-link | yamaha | 3com
I have found this though, Digidave.co.uk for all your broadband needs! > Main Section > POWER SUPPLIES > 12V Western Digital WD TV Live HD power adaptor which says it is the exact one you need.
Sorry i can't be more exact.
