I am considering getting a WD TV Live rather than a WD TV Live Hub as I already have a ton of storage. Is there any difference in the capabilities of the 2 devices (apart from one can have a HDD installed)?

I have looked everywhere but can seem to find an answer to this question.

Also how does the WD TV Live stack up against Dune, Xtreamer, PCH, Mede8er equipment?

    Cheers

The WDTV Live has an internal HDD which gives it a windows compatible file server and a DLNA server however it lacks support for Netflix. Other than that when it comes to media support it's the same as the WDTV Live.

Compared to the others your largely fine with the WDTV for most common media.
