I've had a Mirai 32" LCD TV (DTL-632V200) for the past 5 years. Recently, I've noticed what I can only describe as a 'watermark' running vertically from top to bottom - towards the right hand side of the screen.

I can't imagine what sort of damage this is or how it got there. Can anyone shed any light on this? Even if it's not something that can be corrected, I'd be curious to know how it's likely to have gotten there...

Probably best if you could take a photo and post it here, sounds like the backlight could be on it's last legs but without seeing it....

Thanks for posting. It's going to be a couple of weeks before I can do that (I've set that TV up for my parents and upgraded myself) - on the next occasion I'm over there.

In the meantime, I'll try and describe it a bit better...

I actually thought it was dust/grime - the first time I noticed it. It looks kind of cloudy/smoky - insofar as it's not a rigid straight vertical line.

Other than that, the TV functions fine - I've used it for exactly 5 years.

Ok, finally managed to get a pic of that screen.

'Watermark' running along the left hand side - vertically.

What would have caused this? Is it fixable?

unfortunetly there is no real cure, loosening screws etc may help - but in most cases - its a replacement TV
