hi im going to dpownload some hd samples in 1080p but my tv only supports 1080i and 720p im using a hp pavillion mce pc with a x850 pro pci graphics and am viewing these samples in wmp 10 my desktop resolution is 720p and my tv says its set to 720p resolution, so would i be able to play 1080p movies using a 1280 720p resolution and does it offer better pic quality than 720p movies, thanks in advance for any help on this matter:smashin:

It is possible, yes. It won't look anywhere near as good as it would have looked on a 1920x1080 screen. It can't possibly look better than a 1280x720 movie playing on the same screen, and it will almost certainly look worse (especially if it's 1080i rather than 1080p); but it's possible.
