Wathced it for probably the twentieth time last night:rolleyes: I dont mind it and its one of my wifes favourites.

Apart from when I saw it at the cinema, when I was errrrrrm 4:p ,
this was the first time through a projector, it was also the first time we had heard the DTS mix.

The bit in the middle where the head pops out of the boat caused my wife to throw her full glass of wine into the air:eek:

I dont know if it was the picture size or the new sound mix but she has seen it as many times as I have. You can imagine how angry I was at such a waste of good wine:mad:

We all know it's going to happen now but you can never remeber just when.

See the film for the first time on DVD it's amazing how red the blood is when compaired to the TV broadcasts most of us have seen over the years. Considering the films age I think the film looks almost new on DVD.

Quite possibly my favourite film of all time and still one of the best all round discs ou there even without the full lengh documentary found on the laserdisc. I can always watch Jaws when I can't bring myself to watch anything else - a true classic.

The film stands the test of time because it relies on superb character interaction rather than on cheap shocks and special effects (ironic when it's regarded as the film that invented the "summer blockbuster").

It's always been in my top 10 and should think it'll remain there for the foreseeable future.

    "That's a 20 footer"

"25 - Three tons of 'im"

    (Reminds me of an ex-girlfriend!)

Totally agree with everyone above,it is up in the top 5 for me,and yes the head is a classic, much the same as the whole film - the tension/music/every frame a masterpiece - one of my faves is the view through the jaws as Quints boat leaves dock - love it :)
For sure Tee - the commentary was a classic on the laser, shame it never made it across to dvd :(

    :D :D VERY funny :D :D

I watched it with my g/f a few months ago, she had never seen it before and also went heavily into 'wine spilling' mode every time sonething scary happened.

I watched this once in a swimming pool. The local pool had a cinema screen hooked up over the pool. Sound was crap but the atmosphere was superb.

Why was some one swimming round with a fin on his/her back?

they had a few fins for use. The worst was people disappearing under the water and grabbing your leg when you least expected it. Great fun :D :D

Most people were sitting by the side of the pool otherwise we'd have all looked like prunes but kepts slipping in every now and again to terrose their girlfrinds/mates etc.

Thankfully, the 'weaker bladdered' all seemed to use the loos and not the pool, difficult to tell though.

Biggest downer was no popcorn or foot-long hot-dogs !!!

I can't speak for the popcorn, but I'm sure some of the men were a bit upset that you never noticed their hot dogs ;) :D

I'm pretty sure if some one saw a hot dog floating around there'd be panic, and no one would be shouting shark!

Jaws has a lot to answer for. It's funny but every time I have ever dived where there are sharks, I always hear the music from jaws in my head. Even when their are harmless, It really ****'s you up. Most divers I have spoken to are the same.

Not the sort of thing I look for really, it was a bit chilly in there so 'foot-long' would have been misadvertising !!!

Some of the women seemed to have smuggled peanuts in for the show though :D :D

been to the coast for the weekend and everytime I looked at the water I was comparing it to scenes in Jaws (its my fav of all time and I've watched it twice in the last fortnight) I even found myself muttering Quint's sea shanty under my breath on a pleasure boat ride. Tee's right I can also watch this at anytime when nothing else feels right.
