Washed out component image from sky

Using Infocus IN72 projector. Have problem with sky + . Taking the scart out from the sky receiver, with Ixos XHT 601 0.75.m scart lead to QED scart to component adaptor, then Ixos XHV 704 component leads (2m) to projector. The resulting image is poor and washed out, despite playing with all the colour adjustments. DVD HDMi to HDMI on projector is good, game consoles using composite is good, and sky using svideo are all excelent compared to the scart rgb through to component which is quite unwatchable. I have not as yet tried a different component feed to the projector, however has anyone experienced this problem?

Can't the IN72 take RGBS on its phono inputs so you don't need to convert to component?
