Simple question, as this topic seems to be hot at the moment and I feel this would greatly help many...

As anyone been able to buy an warranty cover for there Oled tv that covers Burn in...?

If yes, would you please provide who from and how much, thanks..

Oh and it needs to state burn in is covered, Currys 5 year know how cover currently excludes burn in, as I personally found out.

I’m guessing you already know the answer tbh, honestly I’m surprised this is allowed to happen by the manufacturer or retailer using this to get out of repairs etc, surely a group case or media involvement by the numbers who have suffered the issue would get things moving in the right direction to stop them using burn in as a cop out...

It’s stopped me buying a OLED for now...

I used to work for an insurer and I am very surprised that nobody bothered to cover...
So yes, I can think of some places that can cover anything but you will probably end up buying the tv twice over 5 years..

I have been here for a long time and never seen so many debates both sides about burn in...as bad as Brexit sometimes but let’s not go there :) there is a thread for that already...

Manufacturer could in principle very easily cover for it based on volume especially LG and pass it on to customer as an extra guarantee...it may come at some stage.

Lots of my forum friends got oled and are very happy. They decided to be ok with the risk and other limitations because of the end results. Some may not.

To be honest I’m not looking another debate on burn in..

I’m just looking to see if anyone as managed to insure there Oled with any worth while warranty cover..

This is the number one reason keeping me away from buying a new one. I know my viewing habits made my Oled last 22 months.. If I could get cover that extended past that I’d be happy to purchase a new one..

As it stands there’s to much risk, which is a shame, hence I’m looking for warranty protection.. Don’t see anything wrong in that.
