According to R2 project, Warner UK will stop using the snapper in September.

Here's the story (Am I allowed to do this?) :-

'Well, it's now official, the Warner Snapper case is dead. Many thanks to an industry insider who's sent over a couple of scans from the pages of a Trade magazine, the bottom line is that from the 1st of September starting with the release of "2 Weeks Notice", all Warner releases will be in "red Tag" case. This case developed by the manufacturer of the Amaray incorporates a locking mechanism that can only be opened by a matching "detacher" that the retailer uses upon purchase. We understand that the locking mechanism will be optional so that retailers (such as on line retailers) who don't want to display live product will not have to.

Following the release of "2 Weeks Notice" all Warner titles will have the packaging and back issue titles will start to be converted over to "Red Tag" cases.'

Now that means Matrix reloaded it yet another title I would like to cancel from dvdsoon (but can't) EDIT: YES I CAN NOW!

.. and why don't you think that you can't cancel it - I cancelled Finding Nemo this morning (so that I could re-order it for $2 less and save $5 by using a coupon for total purchase over $120 in case you wondered)

Thanks for the info, they now seem able to cancel an order. I really wanted to stop the matrix because I ordered it with 2 other films and was worried about customs. Now I have cancelled and ordered them separately (and finding nemo!)

To be honest, I don't mind the snapper - If it affects the price, I don't really care about the case. I hate the 'double super digipaks' they use though - too flimsy.

Warners have been using an Amaray type case for rental versions of their films for ages, AI & Harry Potter are just two I can think of. Why has it taken so long for them to finally ditch them for the retail versions?
