Found this on my net travels: :D

We're hearing new reports about a possible 4-disc Gone with the Wind: 65th Anniversary Special Edition that's in the works at Warner Bros (Very  ). Word is that the title has been announced already for release in Germany on 11/5. We DO know that such a title had been planned as at least a 2-disc special edition (click here for a list of Warner titles on the way) and that it has undergone the "ultra restoration" process at the studio. We've also been hearing whispers about the release from industry insiders. This would be the first retail confirmation of the title, and the first time we've heard about the release being expanded to 4 discs. We'll keep you up to date on this as we learn anything new

The following information was gathered from the Warner Bros. chat on 3/9. Our thanks to HTF member Brandon Conway for doing a superb job of compiling this information.

Just did a search for this and found the following at http://www.dvdreview.com/html/news.html:

On October 5 Warner Home Video will release the film in its original 107 minute uncut version, restored from the original British prints of the film, and present it into original 2.40:1 widescreen aspect ratio in a transfer that is enhanced for 16x9 TV sets. It will contain the original mono audio track of the film in English, as well as the French dub in mono.
Get ready to sink your teeth into this DVD this Halloween when it hits retail shelves on October 5 at a suggested retail price of only $19.95!

Sorry for highjacking your thread Gorshin :)

    Morning,

Let's hope Warner's don't screw-up their new release of Ken Rusell's "The Devils", when it eventually comes out! :lesson:

If they dare release the original censored British cut again, and not the fully-uncut, director-restored and approved uncut version (as recently discussed in the recent Channel 4 documentary), then a lot of people are going to get very angry with them!
