Hopefully this will be confirmed by reliable sources tomorrow. If it turns out to be true, the format war should be over. The two biggest studios, Warner and Fox both support Blu-Ray.

HD-DVD EXCLUSIVE
==============
Universal
Dreamworks (has ties with Universal)

BLU-RAY EXCLUSIVE
==============
Sony Pictures (aka Columbia Tri-Star)
MGM (owned by Sony)
Disney (Touchstone / Dimension Films)
20th Century Fox

BOTH
====
Paramount
Warner Bros.
New Line (Owned by Warner)

At this rate BR could emmerge the winner.

With backing from a major format like the PS3, Blu ray movie sales could sky rocket once the PS3 comes out.
If that happens, I imagine even Universal would join blu ray.

HD DVD needs some sort of instaled base to sell movies on.
IF the XBox 360 supported HD DVD then they would have a place to start.
But with things going the way they are, HD might soon be considered the weaker of the 2 and be phased out.

Its not looking good for HD DVD just now.

According to dvdfile.com, a Japanese newspaper printed the rumour story on Friday.

Nothing concrete has emerged yet.
