I don't recall any advice etc on how to build the sites, just that they'd done them and were wanting feedback?

    Redbubble.com

It's free and you can sell your work.

    Or try godaddy.com

Plenty help on the main page.

Thanks, that's actually the one I'm paying about with at the mo. Trouble is the free version has ads, but can get what I want for £3.88/month. Not sure if that's considered a lot or not?

The other option is to buy your own domain name (pretty cheap these days) and if your ISP already allows you to host a site at no additional cost, then you simply build a site yourself. But if you've got no experience doing that, then £3.88/mth is probably not too bad.

Go a domain already, no idea about my ISP and no idea how to build a site unless I've got a template to use

Thanks for this. $8/month, pricey ;) I assume I'd be able to use the domain I already have for this?

Yes, you can use yours or you can get one through them.

If you look around at other template services you'll see that the bottom SS plan is quite competitive.

Wordpress with nextgen photo gallery... :) plenty pf templates about for wp. Plus, with nextgen, you can sell digital photo's out the box or can pay for the print plugin addition for £40.

Providing you can find a template you like, id say no.

Just choose a decent host is all i can say. Dont go 1&1!!! Had no end of troubles with it.

Also, id download the local install for wp and have a play. Or if you have a home server like me, then run it there if you can. This way, you can see how its going to be before going ahead.

If you dont like the look of nextgen etc, just google for wp gallery plugins. Theres another couple that do the selling but not many to choose from.

I use the company and have done for many years and never knew about what the CEO had done, but then again I would probably be shocked if I dug up more info about those that supplied my gas, electric, policing, refuse collection, library service...............

Never had an issue with GD and have just moved my new .photography there.

So far I'm liking the look of squarespace, really nice classy looking templates, and relatively easy UI. I've read some reviews that say it's difficult to link your own domain though, but I'm yet to look into it.

Edit: quick google brought up this. Seems easy enough (famous last words ;))

Thanks, what do you mean that you can use wordpress, do you mean that you can use it in conjunction with the unlimited web hosting program? If so what are the benefits of this?

Word press is easy, it takes a few minutes to install and there are hundreds and thousands of different free templates to use or buy if you wish.
Issue is snerks you do need to have an idea what you are doing to make things cool but you can make it work out of a box

We use Square Space for one of our corporate sites http://www.webeffectivenessconference.com/
The page editor etc. are all pretty intuitive and easy to use.
I had some agro with it because I was trying to install some custom Javascript but I doubt it would bother you at all.

Karl Taylor advertises one at the beginning of his videos that might be worth looking into. Can't vouch for it though unfortunately.
