I was looking for an internal DVD recorder to save my digital home movies edited in pinnacle studio 9. Now I have Sky + and want some thing to archive stuff from there too.

Use with sky + is likely to be more frequent, pc recording will be rare. I'm probably looking for a standalone dvd recorder box but I think I need one with an input from the pc e.g firewire, usb, bluetooth !! or even something direct from the camera (panasonic nv ds28) as I can save to the camera.

    Thanks for any advice

ok let me phrase it another way. What stand alone dvd recorders have inputs that can be connected to a pc?

    Thanks in advance

My DVDR80 has (finally) arrived from Currys and has a firewire (1394) type input that I am just about to do some serious testing on.
If I may be of further help, please get back to me via this forum.

    thanks for that

I would be very interseted how it performs. Especially the firewire.
Would a PC recognise it as a peripheral DVD recorder?
