To be honest mate you aren't gonna get a decent systemn thats really cheap. looking at that one it only has an output of 44 watts (I could produce more than that with my arse) How far will your budget stretch as it is really worth investing in something better.

thanks for the reply monkey :) the maximum I can spread to is maybe £70-80, and the reason for that is just recently bought Sony KDLw2000 so I am very short on cash for a very long time, but I am impatient as well so cant wait on saving up £200+ to buy a VERY good 5.1
I can settle for a decent 1 for the price range I mentioned above but the problem is you cant find 1 which is compatible with ps3, they are all for PCs.........

Save save save it won't take that long and you can get the Sony HT-SS1100 for £200. Beg steal or borrow do whatever it takes but don't go wasting 80 quid on crap. :D

    Or buy second hand.

You have to watch out for crooks and wrong uns, but there is a ton of AV equipment on E-bay.

If you were to get a proper AV amp it will be able to hook up to a PS3.

Just go on E-bay and do a search for 'home cinema amp'

Probably just an optical digital cable.
Get the cheapest you can find. No need to spend silly money on one.

These speaker systems you've been suggesting are meant for PC use, and this meant I doubt (correct me if I'm wrong) they'll have an optical input. More likely they'll have 3 stereo type jacks used for PC and MP3 outputs, or phono inputs which the PS3 can't do.

Tbh, with systems that price, I doubt they can improve that much on your TV's integrated sound, which is probably pretty good as far as they go. What I'm trying to say is that you have a superb TV costing at least £1000+, and I think a system like that would seriously let the system down.

I personally would take lfcmonkey's advice and wait until you can afford a proper home cinema in a box system which is meant to feed quality sound to a large room, rather than 1 person at a desk.

    Good luck!

EDIT: This set for instance: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Digital-Multimedia-Theatre-Speaker/dp/B0006HBCL8

(although expensive) has an optical and coaxial input AND has Dolby Decoding which means it can take a signal from your PS3. I have heard these speakers, they are amazing! Believe me, its worth the wait for better stuff! Btw decent and really cheap very rarely go together :D

Really save up for a few month around 250 quid and then go on to the Canton power thread and buy a CD102 set of speakers. However you will also need an av amp.
If you cant afford this then you may have to go for some all in one dvd player/speakers system.

I'm sure you'll be over the moon with them, but be warned once you start down the Home Cinema path it soon gets quite expensive :)

    Enjoy your buy!
