    Hello people,

I was going to go with Plusnet (£15pm) 1GB limit, and then I saw the Wanadoo package (£18pm) 2GB limit, free connection, free modem.

Has anyone gone with this package yet?
Are they any good? (Performance, Cust Serv)
Is it worth hanging on for another price drop elsewhere?

    Thanks

    Zapp

    Zapp,

Wanadoo are ok until something goes wrong. You get what you pay for with them and through my own experiences they offer possibly the worst customer service I have ever encountered.
Plusnet would be a far better choice all round.

    :)

Fair enough. I must admit I had my reservations, but would you rate Plusnet for cost effectiveness or another ISP?

    Try this .
Simply tick your preferred ISP's and see what you get.
At this site each ISP has it's own forum area and a quick glance in each will give you a good idea of whether they are good or not.

IMO the best at the moment are (in no order) Eclipse, Zen, Plusnet and Pipex (who have just purchased Nildram)

Have a look here for useful info on ISPs, the ISP Comparator is very good for checking speed, reliability & customer service. If you run a comparison between Eclipse, Freedom 2 Surf, NDO, Nildram, Vista & Zen you will get an idea of the standards set by top performers. You can then compare the results against the ISPs you are curently considering. I think you will invariably find that ISPs giving away free gifts, free installation, free hardware, etc. are doing so in an attempt to distract from their obvious performance/service shortcomings.

    With Wanadoo it's 2Gig a month.
Just checked my meter and I've d/l 105MB in a couple of hours and that was just surfing.
As recommended above I'd steer clear of caps and Wanadoo.
