no photo, but saw one mounted in the window of John Lewis in Oxford Street. Doesn't look half as bad as I thought it might given its design. If you are in London it's worth having a look.

I'm about to have my 50" wall mounted in about 10 days. Need to confirm the install date. I can post once it's up if that isn't to late? I haven't seen one mounted before so hopefully it will be ok!

    Hi Alastair

    Thanks for that.
Can't wait to get my 50" up!
Center speaker underneath with the left and rights about a metre away on stands either side. So the only thing you'll really see on the wall is the plasma and the center speaker.

    cheers

Ive got hte viera 42" wall mounted with the Vogel EFX 2001 mount and its less than 1.5 inches from the wall to the back of the screen itself. So it doesnt stick out . When you are sat in front of it you dont notice it at all.

Tilted mounts etc will make it stick out a lot further

It's approx 170mm from the wall to the front of the screen. The mount takes up about 60mm of this. Unfortunately the shape of the Viera means that it cannot be mounted as close to the wall as say a PWD6 etc. but IMO it still looks good. I think Panasonic designed this screen to be be used mostly with the cabinet floor stands although it can also be used with a desktop mount (if you can get hold of them  )

The measurements are based on our wall mount and it may well be that there are other mounts that have managed to reduce this distance - anyone?

    Regards

I think the stand finishes the whole look of the Viera! I have a 37" and the shop where i bought from had both options (wall & stand) IMOP there was no contest!

I do really like the stand, but I wouldn't of made any use of it as all my kit is going to the side (hidden). So i guess all I would of put underneath would of been the centre speaker. It would of looked a little sad by itself. Personally I like the look of the Viera wallmounted, it's a little different to the rest.
Set up my mates 42" with the panny 85 last night. The DVD picture via RGB scart wasn't very good at all, changed it to pure component leads and wow! And this is out of the box, I was told it takes a while for the Plasma to settle and really shine.
Quick question: What's the best way outside of RGB Scart for SKY+? Can you have component splitters or something of that nature to make the picture quality better?

    Many Thanks
    phil

I thought about wall mounting my 37'' viera but it just sticks out too far so went for the cabinet instead which to be fair looks fantastic and i would really recomend this option for anyviera owners and it cancels any worries about what height the thing should be at. just beware the cost

    Fill,
I'm the same as you in that all my AV gear is at the side on a stand. My center speaker doesn't look lost at all under the screen! Having said that you do have the 50".

It was a toss up between spending £500 on the stand or £500 on the install. Maybe I'm wrong, but I went for the second option? The stand does look lovely, yes the screen will stick out a little further than other screens, but the stand wasn't right for the look I'm going for. I'll post a picture once the install has been done, and let you guys see if really a viera on the wall does work?

    cheers

    Hi Fredde

Fingers crossed - it's all happening tomorrow, 24th! Actually need to ring AMC just to make sure it's still all ok. I'll post up (if I can, never done it before) a picture next week. The plasma's been sitting in the base of the box with the lid off for the passed week in the place were it will go for over a week now! I really know how to tease myself. Can't hide the other AV equipment by the side now because of the depth issue, but it should still look ok.
