    Hi all,

I've bought a wall bracket for my Samsung 19" TV today (dunno if it fits yet, I assume it will). I plan to fit it to the wall in the bedroom, but its a fake wall.

The bracket feels pretty heavy - adding the TV weight as well, am I gonna pull half my house down or should it be OK?

Any advice appreciated. DIY is not my speciality!

    Cheers!

    Paul.

The wall should contain studs or batons where the plasterboard is nailed onto. I think there either at 18inch or 12inch intervals. You need to find these and attache as many points of the mount to these as you can. Then you can just use the ordinary plasterboard fixings that splay out behind the board this should hold it. If there are no cables or sockets nr where you are fixing the bracket you can drill small holes at 1inch intervals until you locate the studs. All wiring in walls runs either vertically or horizontally from its switch or socket so dont drill above or to the sides of any switches or sockets.

Many thanks sbowler, thats exactly what I needed to know.

There are no sockets on the wall at all at either side so should be OK with regards cabling. Fingers crossed! I'll post a pic if it goes successfully!

    All done! Well pleased!

Just need to run a cable tidy down the side of the wall then its all finished. It went into the wall fine - seemed to be brick, which was odd. And it didn't go straight up/down the wall

Ah well, its been up there now for several weeks so should be OK.

Thanks for the tips everyone - here is a pic.

    Paul.
