Saw a preview of this on Friday Night (Thanks Empire!)

Well if you are a fan of films where you know how its going to end from the start and are wanting an updated 1980s early 1990s non cgi action film you cannot go wrong!

    My girlfriend put it best

'if you were a 14 year old boy this would be your fave film!'

Don't go expecting much and you will come out happy!

The Rock really is the successor to Arnie's throne - I'm surprised at how well the guy can act, much better than any of the lunkheads that came before him... (Scorpion King excepted). I thought The Rundown was great no-brainer entertainment too :smashin:

How weak is the violence in this remake ?? As its a PG-13 compared to the originals R rating / 18 cert (cut by BBFC).
How does it compare to the Original as i really like that one - must get round to buying the dvd box set.
    Also really enjoyed Rundown :smashin:

This is nowhere near as good as Rundown.

It all seems a bit "tv movieish" if you know what i mean - remember the films Burt Reynolds made in the late 90's?

Its only on for 1hr 15mins - there is a whole chunk been edited out in the middle (after the courtroom bit) - it looks rushed and defo not cinema stuff.

    More Friday night on Bravo!

    Dave, Oldham UK.

I watched this last night. And it was a throughly enjoyable no brainer. The Rock certainly has potential, an excellent action man, and he can act too (with out a funny accent!) i think what he really needs is a great script that plays to his strengths something like the Terminator did for Arnie.

Anyway the film was enjoyable, the violence was well... violent, it didnt seem toned down to me, and he certainly laid the smack down on the bad guys! (sorry couldnt resist! :D )

The thing i would say though is it did seem rushed in the middle, it seemed to go from the courtroom straight to the final stand off, i wanted to see him get a bit more revenge in between!

Johnny Knoxville was pretty funny too!

    Worth going to see!

    cheers Rob

I watched this on the plane coming back to the UK last week, without sound because I was too cheap to pay for headphones. Something tells me I would have enjoyed it much less had I actually had audio. :D

Enjoyable hour or so and well what can be said but... Ashley Scott :smashin:
Decked out in pvc/leather in Bireds of Prey, totally smoking in the pilot of Joey and if that was stand in for part of the pole dance then I don't wanna know!
Cute in a red bra as well although yet another American movie where the woman is well covered after a night of hot and steamy passion:)
