The gloves are off for what is likely to be two Tory losses, but who can tell in the alternative reality we seem to be inhabiting.

In Wakefield, Labour seems to be sabotaging its chances by selecting a carpet bagger who seems to make a habit of losing elections (4 or 5 so far), and against the wishes of the constituency.

In Tiverton and Honiton the tractor loving ex-MP seems to want to run again, which could make a safe Tory seat look decidedly dodgy.

Popcorn on order for the next month or so.

After winning two seats in what were meant to be ultra safe Tory seats, I do have some high hopes with this one. South West has been a sea of Tory blue since 2015, so the Libdems will be desperate to make a comeback here.

As for the seat itself, the Tories have a 24,000 plus majority, a swing of under 20.4% would be needed to unseat them. Who knows if the Libdems will get anywhere close or even get more than that.

While Labour do usually stand everywhere, I am disappointed the Greens are standing.
