I've just visited WH Smith at Parkgate Rotherham to discover they are having a MAJOR clearout of books,CD's and DVD's.Apparently their new MD has ordered a liquidation of stocks, and it appears all WHS stores will be doing the same.
I bought The Searchers,Tron,Flatliners,Matrix Revolutions,First Knight,English Patient,Always and Dr Terror's House Of Horrors-£3 each, sealed up and spanking new.Itmay be worth calling into any WHS store you pass as they were still putting stuff out when I'd spent up!Lots of XBox games,James Bond DVD's etc in the flogoff.

This has been ongoing for a while, since the end of the financial year really, depending on when the annual stock take is. Wakefield did it about 3 months ago and I got a great selection of 2 discers for a fiver, plus Gamboy advance games (nice profit on ebay there!)

Evilash - I missed the Xbox sell off in the Brighton WHSmiths by 30 mins. I think it was on the 22nd May.

They are their own worse enemy. You'd think they would advertise to encourage more shoppers to visit WHSmiths, think of the promotion they could of had, spend over £15 on non sale items and you can enter a draw to get an Xbox for £50.....

Just picked up the Taken series (6 DVD set) for £4.99, reduced from £39.99. Not a bad deal.

Stratford, E15. I've looked a couple of times before and not seen anything, so they are obviously still turning out stock.

The Taken box is £19.99 in my store - still an excellent bargain, although not my thing at the moment. I didn't catch it when it originally aired, I'm hoping for a rerun of some kind on Sky.

They did have a ton of Great Escape World Cup Spec. Ed. for £8 though, the one with the flag. Got a friend to buy mine for me, and I'll get it tomorrow.

I was there today and picked one up for £4.99. There were 2 left, one sealed and one un-sealed.

Obviously now there is one un-sealed one left :D

AT LAST!!! picked up a WHS bargain after weeks of 'popping in on the off-chance'
Found the cirque du soleil 4-disc boxset and 2 catherine cookson 4-disc boxsets at £4.99 each.
Perhaps not my particular 'wants' but... when the girl scanned them they came up at 99p each, and after unsuccesfully trying to overide the price she honoured it :rotfl:
Also got two Charlie chaplin 2-disc SE's for 99p each.

Oh, and, err, an S-club concert DVD for 50p...it's for the little'un

    £5.45 for the lot :D

Now all i need to do is convince someone to trade catherine cookson box for life of mammals :suicide:
