    Can someone please explain the difference between the Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System Set-ups on the above two Pioneer amps, if any.

    Doing a comparison on the Pioneer site shows the 912 has 'Auto' but the 812 is 'manual'. Having a 'manual' auto-setup sounds like a contradiction. Am I missing something?

    On the 812, manual set up is just that, you have to callibrate all your speakers manually. Whereas on the 912, you plug in the supplied mic, push a button on the remote and after about 3 minutes, the jobs done for you. Quite a handy feature to have if you are not familiar with setting up your speakers. Me being lazy went for the 912 :)
