    Hi there,

I am feeding my 12HT with progr. signal from my 999ES Sony DVD player.
However, I have noticed that although the cinema filter supplied with the pj is increasing the black levels and contrast, it also makes the picture more soft (like dicreasing sharpness).
Is this the filters fault or it is normal so to have a more film like image after the implementation of the cinema filter ?
Has any of you notice the same thing?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Nick

It's probably a combination of the lower light output & slight "defocus" usually introduced by additional filters.

My HS10 "filtered" (CC40R) doesn't really look any softer eventhough the filter isn't of a very high quality, but does indeed look more "filmlike".

I imagine the 12HT produces similiar results - same res etc...

The pertinent question is do you prefer the image produced with the filter in place?
