I have been considering whether to add a video processor to my current video setup (Sony 55A2000, Toshiba 9000, and SD Cable) where I sit about 14 feet from the tv. One possibility I was considering is a VP30/ABT combo assuming I can find one that is significantly cheaper than a VP50. However, I am concerned that at some point in the near future I may add one or more HD sources such as HDDVD, Bluray, or Cable. Is it correct that the latest version of the VP30 firmware includes 1080P passthrough? If so what would I be "giving-up" using passthrough for HD sources on the VP30/ABT combo compared with another videoprocessor, such as the VP50, that accepts 1080P inputs?

Also, can someone confirm whether there is only one hardware version of the ABT card?

Thanks in advance for your advice and assistance.

    Richard
