I’ve just looked at next weeks Voyager (in the Sky TV guide) on BBC2 and the episode Body and Soul is flagged as W/S. hope this is right, I know Enterprise is W/S, but this is the first I’ve heard of Voyager.

NG and Voyager were filmed in 4:3, Enterprise was the first star trek series to be filmed in widescreen.

The BBC have been cropping a lot of 4:3 shows to 16:9 recently so it might justbe that.

Enterprise on Skyone is in 4:3, this is the reason I stopped watching it after episode 2.
I am holding out for Ch4, higher bitrate hence better picture quality, and hopefully in widescreen. coming to a tv near you this Autumn.

unless the rumours of the non-widescreen deal between sky and c4 are true.

C4/E4 have said they will show US material in widescreen if it is broadcast that way in the US. If it is available in widescreen but not been broadcast in widescreen in the US, they will use the 4:3 version.

So, if they are true to what they say, it should be widescreen.

As C4 have bought the secondary rights from Sky however, it remains to be seen whether this will mean they get the tapes from Sky - ie the 4:3 versions, rather than 16:9 versions.

It could very well be the former, as this would be cheaper and quicker.

It's shown in w/s in the US. Interesting point by Duncan, but never thought of handing over copies occured. More likely rights with fresh copies surely as who's to know what Sky etc. w/could have done with them - especially knowing how well they treat stuff!

Think back to the early days of Star Trek The Next Generaion on BBC2.
The first two seasons were shown in mono because the BBC were to tight to by the stereo versions.
The reruns are now in Stereo. (season 3 onwards in Dolby Surround)
It looks like it's happening all over again with the fiasco of sky showing 4:3 instead of widescreen.

Voyager was filmed in WS as a test, I think they only did a few episodes sometime around season 7 I think.

But as far as I know they were never transmitted in WS.

Well it looks as though they had flagged Voyager and STNG wrong with the W last week, tonight and tomorrow’s is now just flagged T.

Tomorrow nights episode of STNG Conspiracy, one of my favourite episodes, just look at the gap under the door for the creature to escape, seems Star Fleet got some shoddy workers in on the right door. At the end of the story, the door was left open (not the one with the gap under it) for a follow up story, yet it did not appear.
