Volume control problem.

A friend of mine is having strange volume problems with the TV it goes to max when TV is turned on have removed batteries from remote etc,etc..This has happened with 3 different branded TV sets Technica,Toshiba and Samsung.Its the exact same fault on all TV's so I am thinking it may be interference from some other device in the room anyone had the same problem and do you have a fix.Thanks.

Low energy light bulbs emit IR and have been known to affect the IR sensors in TVs but to affect 3 different makes/models with the same symptoms...I doubt it.
Are you sure someone isn't pranking him with a programmable remote or something?

Could be possible I suppose she does live in a block of flats but I think it's unlikely.Will mention the energy light thing.Thanks.
