Can anyone tell me if it is a common problem on dvd players for the voices to be out of sync with the pictures sometimes?
Or is it just the cheap ones, mines a Goodmans.:(

it used to be a common problem... but shouldn't be any longer
(assuming its not just a badly dubbed film).

some early models had the problem, including a few specific Sony & Pioneers depending on firmware levels.

is this a specific disc or a reasonable number?

I haven't had the player long but I first noticed it on a Steps Dvd and then on Shrek, when talking about the making of the film.
I've heard before about firmware, how do you find out which version you have and how do you update it?

wouldn't know how you would check on a Goodmans...

as long as these are R2 discs then I'd take it back to the shop and see what they say...

worst they can do is sort out any fix/ firmware if available, though they may just swap it out for another model depending on when you bought it.
