Just woken up to find the vita no longer charges, looks like one if the pins has fallen loose inside the charging port, I've only charged it twice since it was delivered, dropped seller a message but not sure where to go from here.

 

This will be very difficult to call as it was working fine when received.
Is the issue with the charging socket on the Vita or on the charging unit?

 

On the vita itself, it's like the pin has just come out, which makes me think it wasn't overly secure to begin with, I did also notice a blotch in the screen at the top right which wasn't visible in the pictures, but was willing to overlook as was desperate for a vita.

 

For the record the Vita was charged many times over the past year and a half and always working perfectly. I can only suspect you maybe pulled the charger out with force rather than pressing both sides to release it, or at an angle, I’d also definitely try another cable before you condemn it.

 

I haven't used force like I say it's only been charged twice, I also have tried another cable with no joy.

 

You woke up this morning to find it didn’t charge and you already have another cable to test it with? Unfortunately it charging twice shows it was working perfectly when received (10 days ago!)

 

I already had spare charging cables, not sure how relevant that would be to be honest.

 

Just wondering if the other cable you have might have caused the problem? I have only ever used the official one supplied.

 

Unlikely as hadn't tried it until the official cable wasn't working.

 

Like I said, this would be way too difficult to call either way.
The Vita was received and tested and deemed to be working fine.
You say the charge port could have been loose to begin with, but you had no issues with the first couple of charges? That to me would denote there was no evident fault.
Could you have damaged this yourself? It's possible but I have no evidence of that.. the same as I have no evidence the Vita charge port was already faulty.
This will just go back and forth with blame being placed on either side.
I'm not sure what to suggest other than take it to a shop that does electrical repairs and see if it's a simple fix.

 

First impressions seem it would cost around £90, as its a main board replacement, which is just insane, I'd sell on it as spares and just take the hit(haven't actually asked for any money back, just wanted to see what the script was on here first) but the fault with the screen which I did initially ask about that wasn't disclosed pushes the value down even further.

 

Surely if a screen fault was evident once received, then that should have been reported to the seller immediately upon receipt.
To now mention it while reporting a separate issue just comes across as an attempt to demean the overall condition of the item you received.

 

I did mention via pm, was simply brushed off saying seller didn't notice.

You weren’t brushed off at all, I replied on the 3rd if August and you did not reply to my message until today, which ironically said :

“Got it all sorted was running superbly well.”

Don’t know what you expect to happen.

 

Posting half the reply I sent this morning only tells half the story, but as per the pm I've just sent you obviously want nothing to do with it, so will consider it to be a bad experience and take the hit.
