    Hi

Apologies if this has been asked before, but here goes:

I got a new pc on Saturday, with Vista Home Premium. I have my xbox 360 wired to my pc. I also have a usb cable modem for internet access/xbox live usage. This is a shared network, so my 360 can connect to Live.

As a streaming newbie, i can't really recall how things got set up, but I managed to set up my 360 as an 'extender' and could stream things via the 360 dashboard and via Media Center quite happily.

So, I'm playing around with my new PC and come across the 'Network and Sharing Center' window, where the internet connection shows as 'Public'. Now, at the time, this rang some alarm bells, so I changed it to 'Private'.:suicide:

Now my 360 can't see my PC at all, the media tests you can run on the 360 itself keep failing on the ip address part (i've since fiddled with the private/public setting quite a bit )

Basically, what settings should I have for my 2 network connections?

Any help is appreciated (sorry for the long post!)

    Dave

I set up in Windows Media Player.

Click on Library and select Media sharing.

There should be a X Box in the list and select 'Allow'.

I'm on XP but I preume WMP is the same.

Thanks Paul. I've done this (as part of the original setup) but it's still no joy.

Everything looks ok, but something just isn't right somewhere. Even when I go into Media Center on the PC, under Extender it shows the 360 and says 'Set-up, but unavailable'
