    Hi,

I have an offer on a Vision PM 4230 and was wondering if you guys had heard or seen one.

It is a very good offer and this is the only reason I am considering it but don't want to buy it if it's not good.

    Can anyone help??

    Here is a link

Anybody seen this - a friend is looking for a 42" plasma

The specs look fine Contrast ratio of 4000:1 and decent brightness.

But - if something seems too good to be true it usually is.

    Any views ?

contrast is 3000:1 according to simply , very few sets , Panny usually have 4000:1 , the brightness is quite low at 500 IMO

Also I htink this is just a panel not a TV, are you aware of that? Ie no tuner as far as I can see, but I could be wrong, you would need to get a freeview or Sky to watch terrestial channels.

£1,300 though , damm cheap. No idea about quality of picture though

Well not entirely sure I would classify that as a review, more an end user comment at best. 'It's good' barely qualifies our reviewer friend as PQ specialist.

I would do a search on here, that shows you comments from many users who were unhappy with it, but at the end of the day only trying it for yourself is the answer.

Again, I state for the record it's not a TV but a panel, so you need either a tuner box or freeview/sky to watch terrestial on it, also I dont' think speakers are included you will need a home cinema set up.

Yes sorry - contrast ratio is 3000:1 and brighness is 1300 cdm.

CR is same as my Panny 37" !

Not a problem that it is a panel only will be plugged into Sky.

Anybody with first hand experience ?

I'd be interested in some first hand experience of this set as Maplin do it for £1500 with interest free credit.

It actually looked pretty decent displaying a DVD. If I pop down again I may ask for a play with it as I'm not sure how it was all connected up (plus its very bright in the shop).

One thing i have found is that cheap plasmas look pretty good until you see them next to a better unit, Pio/Panny etc then they look crap!!! £1299 for a42" Plasma is very very cheap, second cheapest screen i have seen....................
