i wont stand for this its against the trades descriptions act, to advertise a product, then remove it and advertise it again for more money..... ( beacause you cant tell me that they wont get more stock and advertise it at £29.99)... i will be sending a rather 'shirty' email to them demanding they act upon the contract they joined up to with me to supply the goods!!!!......

bummer... just noticed this i the T &C's....
Contract for the Supply of Goods

*No contract for the supply of goods will subsist unless and until an email is sent by DVD.CO.UK to you confirming that your order has been shipped. This confirmation email amounts to an acceptance by DVD.CO.UK and is effective regardless of whether or not you receive the email.

Well dvd.co.uk have gone down in my estimation now and I shall frown whenever I see their name mentioned. Frown I tell you. That'll learn 'em.

    the reply.....

    Hi James,

    >Unfortunately the deal of the £17.99 stock was a one time deal that at
    >this time cannot be replicated. It was a very limited number of units
    >that due to massive popularity sold through in a matter of minutes. I am
    >unable to get this stock again at the said price so any stock that is on
    >the site now will have to be listed at a higher price as that is also
    >what we have had to pay for it.
    >
    >Many Thanks
    >
    >Paul

    My response to that...

    Paul,
i would like to express my dissapointment with this matter, the order was taken and CONFIRMED by email, if the product was 'out of stock' it should have been removed from the site.
this should not have been allowed to be 'processed' and my son will be very dissapointed with this outcome.
i will no longer be shopping with dvd.co.uk in light of this matter and will recommend that others don't if orders are not honored when confimation emails have been sent out.

    james.

Got the cancellation email too - no apology either. Doesn't leave a great impression tbh.

I don't understand why everyone is up in arms about not getting it for £17.99, their terms and conditions state there is no contract until the goods are shipped. If anything they should be applauded for emailing saying it has been cancelled and not making up an excuse thats its out of stock etc etc and making you hang on for months like other suppliers.

Indeed, the price stated was an "invitation to treat" and no contract is formed at the point of ordering. No contract is ever formed until the order has been processed with payment taken. I missed this one, which is a shame, but well done to DVD.co.uk for offering an albeit limited number of these for such a great price.

As the above poster mentions, they should be applauded for their quick communication to people who have ordered. I ordered Amped 3 from HMV for £9.99 in November 2006 as a christmas pressie but they just kept saying that they were awaiting stock until the end of Feb 07 when they finally told me that it was out of stock and my order had been cancelled!

I'm more annoyed by the tone of the email rather than the fact that it got cancelled.

At least they could have been more honest.

    Notice the spelling mistake too!
