You don't actually say what happens when you try to top up! I have been registered with Virgin for a while and have no problems topping up with the credit cards I have registered. I did have problems registering my credit cards initially and had to do this by telephone, but no problems since.

I generally always have problems using virginmobiles site, its just very slow and often timeouts.

I find it far easier to use the phone to top up, once the card is registered the first time it takes a few button presses to do.

I always find the Virginmobile site to be slow/timeout.
Orange let you top up online once you have registered your cc details by phone.

I work for Virgin Mobile and we are acutely aware of the difficulties. We are currently in the process of upgrading the webservers and moving away from Apache as well. Sorry it's a bit crap at the moment.

You can of course top-up via the IVR just as easily (actually more so at the moment)

Off topic....but do you know if Vigin Mobile are going to reduce any prices to compete with Easymobile/Fresh? Are they having a lot of people leave Virgin as a result?

Kartikp - We have no intention to reduce our prices at the moment. Remember we charge 15p/5p for calls, easy charge 15p for every minute and charge you £10 for a replacement SIM, ours are free. Bear in mind things get even cheaper if you buy a bundle.

True, but easy charge 15p for ALL calls. You charge 20p MORE (35p) for cross network. I'm sure that paying 20p less every minute will save more than the £10 I may need to pay once in a blue moon if I were to lose my SIM.

Also, their texts are 5p to ALL networks.
