Virgin Mobile and EDGE ?

Hi folks.

Just got an old Blackberry 8310 Curve from my friend.

I also have a contract with virgin mobile (UK).

I can currently use the blackberry to get on the internet. It is however only connecting at GPRS rather than the quicker EDGE connection.

Can anyone tell me why ?

Is it just a signal issue, or do I need to configure something ?

I am based in Altrincham, Cheshire if that helps.

PS - had a mate round earlier and he had a 8520 on Vodaphone which WAS connecting via EDGE - so is it virgin, or is it me ??

Cheers.

On my Bold 9000 you go into Options/Mobile Network/Network Mode and can choose between 2G, 3G or both

Would guess will be something similar on your 8310
