got new virgin media superhub, want to connect my xbox via ethernet cable. Normally xbox automatically picks up the IP address and DNS setting and so on, but its not picking up anything over Ethernet, IP is 0.0.0.0 DNS is the same

they are both set to Automatic and coming up with nothing,

Wireless mode is off (Ethernet)
Network name (SSID) blank
Network type Blank
Wireless Security Blank

dunno what PPPoE is but thats all blank also

please any help would be great.

also sorry if post in wrong forum.

Have you got a router you could connect your Xbox to first instead of connecting straight to the hub?

I've got my Xbox connected to my Apple TimeCapsule which is in turn connected to my Virgin hub.
Both via Ethernet.
I don't have any problems getting online.

My TC was set up like this before I got the hub, when I was using an old modem I'd had from Virgin for years.

I don't use the hub like it should be to be honest.
My MacBook connects wirelessly through the TC, and when I want to use wifi on my iPhone I change the frequency(1st gen. TC) via the Airport app I downloaded for it, as the 2.4ghz setting on the hub is **** poor and temperamental.

Basically, I use the hub like a standard modem and network anything I need to through my TC.
