Hi All
We have a set of drawer units in our living room and since removing the virgin cable box which houses the cable we've always felt some kind of draft in that area and smell of mould. In the last few months with the rain we've also noticed a patch of damp developing on the walls. Today, we decided to remove the drawers and alas there looks to be damp. We noticed rainwater dripping off the end of the cable that was running into the house, also cold draught coming from the hole.
We would automatically assume its this, however, just under that part of the internal wall we noticed water. With that, would it be correct to assume that the windy rainwater has entered the hole where the cable is installed then some has fallen through and penetrated down the wall as well as out the cable? Pics attached to give some clarity.
We will be calling a damp specialist in but in case theyre busy would it be right to spray the hole throughly with foam?
A quick google search shows this to be a prevalent issue
Excuse the wire wool, rodent protection in case !
