Hi,

does anyone know if it is possible to buy a Virgin HD box second hand or do they ALWAYS belong to Virgin no matter the one-off payment they ask for?

I've seen 'em advertised on another site (E..Y) but I've been told they shouldn't be......is that true?

I ordered one from Virgin this morning but they also said I could get one from any High Street store!!!!

Can someone put me right?

When you subscribe to Virgin they rent you their STB/V+ as part of the sub. The box belongs to them and when you cancel they will require the box to be returned to them.
The one off charge when you first request a V+ is (in their words) 'an installation charge' rather than the cost to purchase it.

If you do buy a V+ off eBay then they can still require you to give it back - leaving you out of pocket. You also wont be able to use the V+ without the correct subscription.

Mark.
