I have been advised to check out the following before seeking lense. How can vignetting be reduced whilst using a wide angle lense on my Fuji S7000?

    Regards Spidey :lease:

Well cropping is one way, or using the clone tool in PS is another

I think the Fuji wide angle lens is designed to be used with the camera on full zoom only, that is the only way to avoid vignetting with this system. Otherwise, as Seany said, you'll need to crop i.e. cut off the vignetted edges of your images in Photoshop (PS) or similar computer program.

Thanks for that. That seems to make sense. Just need to find a reasonably priced lense, or should I stick with Fugi?

    Regards Spidey

If you shoot in RAW there's a handy vignetting correction tool in PS cameraRAW that can circumvent the need to crop.

This gets rid of mild vignetting where the image has a slightly dark halo, but the kind of vignetting you get if you don't use the lens attachment at full zoom can be quite severe with the Fuji, it's not just the shadow of the lens, it is the lens in view.
Check out the Fuji forum at www.dpreview.com, there are many people there who've had good results with Olympus teleconverters but non-Fuji lenses are not guaranteed to work well with the Fuji.
